Skills Needed to Fly RC Helicopters

Most people believe that its very difficult to fly RC helicopters.  The fact of the matter is, they are pretty easy with a little practice. Buy an RC helicopter that only has three controls, up and down, forward and back and left and right. Limiting the number of controls you can makes things simple and doesn’t over complicate things. Start by testing you alignment – there are typically instructions on the box on how to do this. Now, start by increasing the throttle smoothly. Try get your chopper to a hover.  THis is important because when you fly around, you need to maintain a good hover and be able to control you height.

Once you have this mastered, you can start by using the rudder control (left and right).  If you can, start you flight training in a large room – the larger the better and preferably somewhere with carpet. This will reduce the chance od damage to you helicopter.

The secret is practice. Take it slow and put in the hours to ensure you master teh flight of indoor RC helicopters.
